How to throw a boomerang

1. Choose an open area, preferably a park or similar. As beginners often make mistakes, the boomerang could land heavily on one of its arms and the resultant shock wave could break it. Thick grass and soft places are good places for a beginner to learn the art.

2. Hold the boomerang with flat side to the palm. Grip the boomerang with your thumb and first two fingers.

3. Aiming 45 degrees to the right of the wind flow, raise your boomerang above your shoulder.

4. Throw the boomerang approximately 30 degrees upwards and away from the ground using a whip cracking action imparting plenty of spin.

5. The boomerang should leave your hand in the vertical (upright) position. As it spins it will return to the horizontal (flat) position.

6. When catching the boomerang hold your hands open and then clasp them sandwiching the boomerang.

7. Catch with both hands still following the flight path of the boomerang, keeping to the side of the body.

8. GOOD LUCK
