Australian Aboriginal Art at Creative Native

A unique experience!

Aboriginal art with a didgeridoo background.

Australian Aboriginal culture – its artwork, its musical instruments, artefacts and aboriginal craftwork is on display at Creative Native aboriginal art, one of the finest aboriginal art galleries in Australia.

Situated in Perth, Creative Native aboriginal art has a superb collection of traditional and contemporary aboriginal art, some created by Australia’s finest aboriginal painters.

The exhibition of art, displayed in Creative Native’s Dreamtime Gallery includes hand woven Aboriginal design carpets - all viewed to a background of aboriginal didgeridoo music.

It’s a unique experience – and in fact, after a free lesson from the resident didgeridoo player you might be tempted to take up this ancient musical instrument yourself.

The exhibition offers the opportunity to view and purchase traditional aboriginal paintings and prints created in locations from as far a field as Western Australia's awesome Murchison to the scorched Northern Territory Deserts.

Creative Native’s aboriginal art didgeridoos are sourced from across Australia. All are created through the traditional method of termites eating through the centre to create a natural hollow. The wood is sealed and treated, followed by aboriginal designs being applied to make each instrument an original piece of aboriginal art.

You’ll also marvel at the brilliance and detailed aboriginal designs on clothing and jewellery, hats and scarves, ceramics, screen printed T shirts and wood work. Perfect for that unique Australian gift.

Aboriginal Art - Perfect for that unique Australian gift.

Among the products to fascinate visitors are the beautifully hand-carved emu eggs. Carving an emu egg requires painstaking care as one slip can easily destroy the fragile shell.

Emu eggs are a deep flecked green with seven shades of inner shell. Only the most skilled artisans are able to expose the seven shades.

The gallery's authentic aboriginal artefacts include Woomeras (spear throwers), boomerangs (including the genuine root boomerang), Nulla Nullas, fighting sticks, shields and spears as well as carved animals and Coolamons.
